“All My Children” Star Alicia Minshew and “Tainted Dreams” Creator Sonia Blangiardo Visit Dallas’ “Daybreak”
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
“All My Children” Star Alicia Minshew and “Tainted Dreams” Creator
Sonia Blangiardo Visit Dallas’ “Daybreak”
Ron Corning Slated to Interview the Pair about Resurgence of Soaps
for WFAA-TV Dallas/Fort Worth’s “Daybreak”
NEW YORK CITY, March 14, 2013 – Sonia Blangiardo, creator and executive producer of the new soapy, scripted drama “Tainted Dreams” and Alicia Minshew, best known for her role on “All My Children” as Kendall, eldest daughter of the iconic Erica Kane (Susan Lucci), will appear in a segment of the Dallas/Fort Worth ABC affiliate WFAA-TV popular morning show, “Daybreak” with host Ron Corning Friday, March 15 at 6 a.m. CDT. The duo will discuss “Tainted Dreams” and the resurgence of scripted programming.
According to Blangiardo, “At its core, ‘Tainted Dreams’ is a ‘soap within a soap’ and provides a realistic look at the lives of the cast and crew of a fictional NYC-based, daytime drama produced five days a week for many years.” Its main character is producer/director, Angelica, played by Minshew, who is busy navigating the craziness of producing a daily soap opera amid balancing the torrid drama of her own life. Blangiardo admits, “The character of Angelica is based on my own life and my 20 years working in NYC-based daytime dramas.”
Minshew, who plays Blangiardo’s “Tainted Dreams” alter-ego Angelica, has built an impressive acting and modeling resume, appearing in numerous national commercials, voiceovers, print ads, live stage productions and television credits, including “Celebrity Death Match,” “Hit and Runway,” “The Caprice” and a starring role in “Game Day.” Since “All My Children” ended its run on ABC, Minshew has appeared in two independent films, recently finishing a starring role in “Desires of the Heart.” Minshew is slated to star in the pilot “Surviving Sam” with impressionist/comedian Rob Magnotti.
In addition to being the creator and executive producer of “Tainted Dreams,” Blangiardo is currently serving as supervising producer of Prospect Park’s online revival of “All My Children.” While “Tainted Dreams” is set during the last beleaguered decade of NYC-based daytime dramas, in contrast, Blangiardo expresses excitement for the “All My Children” re-birth with Prospect Park, “I am thrilled to be a part of transitioning ‘All My Children’ to a new frontier. Soaps are back, and I am pleased to be a part of their resurgence on several fronts,” enthuses Blangiardo.
With a comedic flair & lots of soapy twists, Blangiardo’s “Tainted Dreams” promises to blow the lid off the behind-the-scenes drama of producing a daily soap opera which Blangiardo, who has worked on “All My Children,” “As The World Turns,” “One Life to Live” and “General Hospital,” knows quite well. In addition to Alicia Minshew, “Tainted Dreams” boasts a unique combination of high profile soap stars, reality stars, sports figures, singers and theater actors. To date, casting announcements for “Tainted Dreams” include Dina Manzo (“Dina’s Party” and “The Real Housewives of New Jersey”), Kelley Menighan Hensley (“As The World Turns”), Walt Willey (“All My Children”), Marnie Schulenburg (“As The World Turns”), Michael Lowry (“All My Children”) Anthony Wilkinson (“My Big Gay Italian Wedding”) and Austin Peck (“Days of Our Lives”).
Two-time Emmy winning producer and director Blangiardo is the creative force and executive producer of NYC Brand Production’s first scripted drama, “Tainted Dreams” which begins filming in New York in late May. Blangiardo has served as a director for Los Angeles-based “General Hospital” throughout the past year during its creative and ratings renaissance.
Distribution details for “Tainted Dreams” are not yet finalized.

Dina Manzo Set to Star in “Tainted Dreams”
NEW YORK CITY, Jan. 30, 2013 – Glamorous host of HGTV’s “Dina’s Party” and former star of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” Dina Manzo is slated to join the cast of NYC Brand Production’s “Tainted Dreams,” a new dramedy set behind-the-scenes of a New York-based daily soap opera modeled after such iconic shows as “All My Children,” “One Life to Live” and “As the World Turns.” No stranger to the real-life drama occurring behind-the-scenes of a TV show, Manzo will play “Alessandra DiGiacomo,” a smart and successful NYC corporate CEO whose younger gay brother (Anthony Wilkinson) will face unexpected circumstances due to his sexuality. “Tainted Dreams” begins filming in May in New York.
Dina Manzo on her decision to join the cast of “Tainted Dreams”: “Coming from a large Italian family, I was immediately drawn to the character of Alessandra’s family dynamic, and as a long-time fan of ‘One Life to Live,’ I am excited to be part of a project centered around the rich, proud heritage of NYC-based daytime drama.”
Emmy-winning director and “Tainted Dreams” creator, Sonia Blangiardo discloses, “I created the role of “Alessandra” with Dina Manzo in mind, and we are thrilled to have her join our cast. Her constant support of the gay community and her talent makes her the perfect choice for this series.”
“Tainted Dreams” boasts a unique combination of high profile soap stars, reality stars, sports figures, singers and theater actors. To date, casting announcements for “Tainted Dreams” include Alicia Minshew (“All My Children”), Kelley Menighan Hensley (“As The World Turns”), Walt Willey (“All My Children”), Marnie Schulenburg (“As The World Turns”), Michael Lowry (“All My Children”) and Anthony Wilkinson (“My Big Gay Italian Wedding”).
According to Blangiardo, “in 2012 when the last daytime drama produced in NYC left the air, I was struck by the loss of this unique art-form that had been such an integral part of NYC for decades. I wanted to somehow capture my own two decades working behind the scenes of three different NYC-based soaps. ‘Tainted Dreams’ is an homage to the casts and crews of those New York-based soaps that brought so much joy to so many for over half a century.” While Blangiardo currently directs for “General Hospital” in Los Angeles, she also worked on the last three New York-based soaps, “As the World Turns,” “All My Children,” and “One Life to Live.”
Distribution details for “Tainted Dreams” are not yet finalized.

“MY BIG GAY ITALIAN WEDDING” at St. Luke’s Theatre.
New hit reality star Angela Raiola (“Big Ang”) gets her equity card in ‘My Big Gay Italian Wedding,” by Anthony J. Wilkinson.
The original twelve shows of Christmas has already been scratched. With new celebrities continuing to join the cast and sold out performances, the show has been extended to every Saturday thru April 13th. “Big Ang” from the hit VH1 series “Mob Wives” as well as her own spin off on VH1 is the first of many to join the revised schedule. “I’ve always wanted to be on Broadway, and this is my favorite show! I’ve seen it five times!” Big Ang stated. “I am a huge supporter of the gay community and to perform a gay wedding will be easy for me. I’ve always wanted to be on Broadway so move over Patti Lupone.”
Presented by Bianco Productions, the production is helmed by Emmy Award-winning director Sonia Blangiardo (“One Life To Live, “As the World Turns”) and features original music and lyrics by David James Boyd and original choreography by J. Anthony Pinnunziato, a gay Italian-American from a large chaotic family, wants to marry his boyfriend Andrew Polinski in a traditional Italian ceremony. Anthony’s overbearing mother won’t give her blessing unless Andrew’s estranged mother also gives her blessing and the ceremony is performed by a priest. Matters are further complicated by Andrew’s ex-boyfriend, intent on breaking up the couple.

“My Big Gay Italian Wedding” has played in El Paso, Omaha, Louisville and is scheduled to play five other major cities in 2013, including Los Angeles in January. Last spring, “My Big Gay Italian Wedding” played in Edinburgh, Scotland, during the Fringe Festival and in London for a six-week run. A U.K. tour began in France in May 2012, and the musical is scheduled to open in Hong Kong.
