Tainted Dreams has everything one would want in an online soap or any soap for that matter. The sudsy webseries is full of sex, scandal, mystery, and intrigue. The brainchild of Emmy-winning producer/director Sonia Blangiardo is all about the sexy outlandish happenings behind the cameras of the fictional New York soap Painted Dreams.
Not only does it include some of the genre’s favorite actors but it provides its audience with a nice tongue in cheek peek at what it may or may not be like on the set of a soap opera. The concept of a soap about a soap works because of the knowledgeable writing and acting. Blangiardo’s creation doesn’t over indulge in pretense. While there are several nods to the real soap industry, Blangiardo clearly understands that the soap fans are her target audience.

Coed Students Wanted for New College Arm Wrestling Championship
Male and female students from Penn State, Rutgers, UConn and Syracuse University will compete for $10,000 Grand Prize in first College Arm Wrestling League Grand Championship at Asbury Park’s famed Stone Pony
NEW YORK CITY, Sept. 23, 2013 – NYC Brand Productions is pleased to announce its new, action-packed, adrenaline-inducing sports show “The College Arm Wrestling League…CAWL To Arms” in which, according to show creator Rob “Bucky” Buchalter, “teams of collegiate students from rival schools around the country face one another in exciting and grueling matches to determine the most powerful male and female college arm wrestlers in America.” Filming for the competition takes place Nov. 17-18, 2013 at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, N.J.
The first “CAWL to Arms” match-ups include students from Penn State versus students from Rutgers and students from University of Connecticut versus students from Syracuse University. The winning teams from those match-ups will face each other in a final round to determine the 2014 “CAWL To Arms” Grand Champions. The winning team members will share a $10,000 cash prize.
NYC Brand Productions is currently in pre-production for “CAWL to Arms”; Buchalter explains, “We are actively recruiting students from Penn State, Rutgers, Syracuse U. and UConn. to participate in our inaugural Championship season. We are looking for men and women from all four universities who are competitive and who believe they have what it takes to be arm wrestling champions.” Students who are interested in participating can complete an online application at cawltoarms.com and submit a video detailing why they should be chosen as a contestant. The deadline for submission is Oct. 14, 2013.
“NYC Brand Productions is thrilled to have Asbury Park’s The Stone Pony serve as our host venue. It has been nearly a year since Hurricane Sandy ravaged the Jersey Shore, and this production reinforces that Asbury Park and the Jersey Shore are back in business and ‘Jersey Strong,’” explains Candace Straight, lifelong New Jersey resident and NYC Brand Productions’ partner. The Stone Pony, internationally famous for its rich rock-n-roll history, has been a Jersey Shore institution for nearly four decades. According to Straight, “Asbury Park’s The Stone Pony has been instrumental in the launch of many careers, and we are pleased to have them involved in the launch of our new sports show.”
The show will air on ESPNU and ESPN2 beginning in 2014.

NYC Brand Production Launches Tainted Dreams Website and Contest to Select Extras
CONTEST: Who Wants to Be an Extra?
NEW YORK CITY, July 9, 2013 – New York Brand Productions is pleased to announce the launch of its Tainted Dreams website at http://tainteddreamstheseries.com, designed by KJS Design & Technology, LLC and Mark Smith Creative. The NYC skyline photo forming the backdrop of the home page is provided courtesy of Rob Santeramo Photography, a partner in NYC Brand Productions. Santeramo has a special connection to the project; he is also the fiancé of Tainted Dreams creator and executive producer Sonia Blangiardo.
Introducing the website, Blangiardo explains, “We wanted to highlight our amazing cast and build a little curiosity for the cast members we haven’t announced yet.” Blangiardo went on to reveal, “The shimmery glimmers of light juxtaposed against NYC at midnight evokes my vision of the millions of “tainted dreams” this town has seen come and go. Our story is how some of those “dreams” played out against the backdrop of producing a daily soap opera during precarious days of network interference in the soap’s three-decade run.”
The Tainted Dreams website features a brief description and introduction to many of the key characters in the series. Two-time Emmy winner, Blangiardo previously admitted the Tainted Dreams character played by Alicia Minshew “Angelica Caruso” closely mirrors her “real life.” When asked whether longtime soap fans might recognize any of the other characters, Blangiardo grinned and teased, “There may be some other recognizable characters, but I’ll never confirm who they are…at least not as long as they are still alive.” Blangiardo has had a wealth of experience to draw upon creating the Tainted Dreams characters; over the past 20 years, Blangiardo has worked at All My Children, One Life to Live, As the World Turns and General Hospital.
Blangiardo also introduced a contest to select two extras from among fans visiting the new Tainted Dreams website. Details are here: http://tainteddreamstheseries.com/about-tainted-dreams/contest/. Entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Sunday July 21, 2013. Two winners will be selected to join the filming in New York City August 6. Timing and other details will be supplied to the winners.
Filming for Tainted Dreams will begin July 29. The series will be shot in Manhattan, Brooklyn and parts of New Jersey.
Tainted Dreams features an extraordinary cast of popular soap and reality stars including Alicia Minshew (All My Children), Terri Ivens (All My Children), Grant Aleksander (Guiding Light), Kelley Menighan Hensley (As the World Turns), Natalia Livingston (General Hospital), Walt Willey (All My Children), Marnie Schulenburg (As the World Turns), Michael Lowry (All My Children), Austin Peck (Days of our Lives), Colleen Zenk (As the World Turns), Dina Manzo (Dina’s Party and Real Housewives of New Jersey), Anthony Wilkinson (My Big Gay Italian Wedding and the new My Big Gay Italian Funeral), Lisa Marie Varon (IMPACT WRESTLING) and “Mr. PEC-Tacular” Jessie Godderz (IMPACT WRESTLING and Big Brother).
