Sonia BlangiardoSONIA BLANGIARDO – “Director” Sonia is currently a director for ABC’s General Hospital and has worked in television for over 20 years as a producer/director for ABC’s All My Children and One Life to Live and CBS’ As the World Turns. She has won two Emmys for producing and directing. She is currently working in pre-production on several original scripted and reality show concepts. Sonia is the founder of CARLO’S GOAL, a non-for-profit organization for pancreatic cancer research which has raised over $30,000. She is thrilled to work again with familiar faces and to welcome new ones.  She has and will continue to embrace the professional challenge of directing, producing, casting and costuming this amazing cast and show.


ROB SANTERAMO – “Photography” is a two-time Emmy Award winner for his work as technical director for ABC’s One Life to Live. He is also an award-winning and published photographer. His photos have frequently appeared in numerous photography magazines as well as in Soap Opera Digest. Rob’s talents extend to graphic artwork, sound mixing, video editing and photo editing and repair. His photography is available at Rob Santeramo Photography.  In addition to supplying the art work which dressed the stage of My Big Gay Italian Wedding, he also was publicity photographer for the cast of My Big Gay Italian Wedding.


ANTHONY J. WILKINSON – “Anthony” A born and raised New York native, Anthony is a graduate of NYU’s College of Arts and Sciences for English and Creative Writing. He started his career as an Intern Writer at ABC Daytime’s One Life To Live in 1996 and, during his fourteen years there, worked his way up to the position of Associate Director. While in that position, he earned three Daytime Emmy Awards and was a four-time recipient of the Directors Guild of America Award. Anthony’s original production of My Big Gay Italian Wedding started his other passion in the theatre world when it opened Off-Broadway in 2003 at the Actor’s Playhouse and later moved to Theatre Four in the spring of 2004. In 2006, Anthony wrote and starred as “Rio La Rocca” in the Off-Broadway production of Boys Just Wanna Have Fun. Anthony restaged My Big Gay Italian Wedding in September of 2009 at the St. George Theatre for an audience of over 2,000 people. After much discussion and huge debates with regards to the topic, its rave reviews and success prompted an explosive revival on Restaurant Row with a full out Equity cast in April of 2010 and again in 2012. In January of 2011, Samuel French signed on to represent Anthony and began licensing the show. Aside from New York City, the show has already played in El Paso, Omaha and Louisville and is scheduled to play in five other major cities in 2013. Last spring My Big Gay Italian Wedding played in Edinburgh, Scotland during the Fringe Festival and then for six weeks in London. After receiving high accolades, the show was picked up for a UK tour that commenced in France this past May. The show continues to make its way across the globe and is scheduled to open in Hong Kong in October. Along with performing in New York City, Anthony recently was appointed the Director of Tourism for NorthPark Center in Dallas Texas, where he currently lives.


DANIEL ROBINSON – “Andrew” Daniel is thrilled to be joining My Big Gay Italian Wedding for another round! Alaskan-born and raised in Oregon, Daniel attended University of Arizona for Dance, and American Musical & Dramatic Academy for Musical Theater. He made his Broadway debut in Hairspray (2006-2009), playing the role of Fender while understudying both Link Larkin & Corny Collins for such celebrities as Ashley Parker Angel & Lance Bass. Prior to that, Daniel starred as Will Parker in the 1st National Tour of Oklahoma! with elaborate acrobatics and rope tricks (choreographed by the incomparable Susan Stroman). Additional theatrical credits include the National Tour of Happy Days, in which he played the role of Potsie while understudying the Fonz, and the European Tour of Grease. You can also see Mr. Robinson in “The Big Gay Musical” as the lead Paul on Netflix, Hulu & iTunes. Earlier this year he was also privileged enough to work with Madonna in her video “Give Me All your Luvin”. In 2006, Daniel became involved with Broadway Bares, an annual burlesque show which raises for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. He is currently directing, filming and editing a documentary on the event with Tony award winning choreographer/director Jerry Mitchell. BRETT DOUGLAS – “Maurizio” Brett Douglas* originated the role of Maurizio in My Big Gay Italian Wedding waaaay back in 2003. Most recently he was seen in the NYMF production The Groove Factory, music and book by David Boyd & Chad Kessler. Other favorite NY credits: Coming: A Musical of Biblical Proportions, JAWS: The Musical, Bernadette & the Butcher of Broadway. DONNA CASTELLANO – “Angela” Donna’s favorite Off-Off Broadway Theatre credits include Gladys in A Tomato Can’t Grow In the Bronx by Gary Morgenstein, Jolly in Mamet’s The Old Neighborhood, Edith in Lanford Wilson’s Ikke, Ikke, Nye, Nye, Nye and the DMV Lady from Hell in Christopher Durang’s DMV Tyrant. Television Credits: Donna has done sketch comedy, on camera and voice over roles, for many years on The Late Show with David Letterman, as the lady in the Tweedy Bird Tee Shirt among many others. She has also appeared on Saturday Night Live as Aunt Teresa, Late Night with Conan O’Brien as Monica Lewinsky and Sopranos as Aunt Mary. Film Credits include Documentary Producer in Woody’s Allen’s Crimes and Misdemeanors. Indie Film credits include Claire in University Of The Streets, Dot in Portraits, part of The Door Post Festival and The Last Supper. JOE SCANIO – “Joseph” is a native Brooklyn-ite and is thrilled to reprising the role of Joseph and rejoining the cast of My Big Gay Italian Wedding. Theater credits include Off Broadway: Finality, Tony Soaprano’s Retirement Party, Who Killed the Boss and The Odd Couple. Television credits include Law & Order, The Sopranos, The Black Donnellys, Sesame Street and Through My Eyes, a series on cable television. Commercial credits include Royal Crown Bakery, ESPN and Brooklyn Cyclones. Film festival projects include You Can’t Hustler a Hustler, Out of the Fog, Gangland Graveyard, Crossroads and the soon to be released feature film Saved by the Pole.


MERIDITH CULLEN – “Maria” originated the role of Maria in the 2003 cast and is absolutely thrilled to be back home with her Big Gay Italian Family! After a brief hiatus of inspiring young performing artists (and working on her tan) in sunny Florida, Meridith is overjoyed to be back in NY. She had the honor of taking center stage at Carnegie Hall as a Soloist for Turn Up The Peace. KIM SOZZI – “Aunt Toniann” (December 1, 16, 22, 23, 29th and 30th) One of the leading ladies of the Billboard Dance charts, Kim has enjoyed 10 Top #5 Billboard hits and she has the distinct honor of having 3 consecutive #1 songs on the Billboard Dance Charts (“Feel Your Love”, “Kiss Me Back”, and “Secret Love”). In 2009, her single “Feel Your Love” was the #1 most played Dance song of the year, beating out “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga. Her collaboration with MYNT, “How Did You Know” peaked at #1 on KTU 103.5, received nationwide radio airplay and rose to #2 on the Billboard Chart. Kim has performed with acts such as Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga, Pitbull, Pussycat Dolls, Flo-Rida, Coldy O’Donis, George Lamond,John Mayer, Fantasia, Backstreet Boys, Kevin Rudolf, and Cascada. In 2003, she recorded “Show Me The Way” with Jose Carrerras and toured with him throughout Europe. The duet went on to achieve enormous acclaim in the European market and was chosen as the theme song for Ski Jumping Olympics in Austria. Signed personally by Tommy Motolla of Columbia Records, Kim’s ballads were featured on the wildly popular soundtracks of Dawson’s Creek and Teaching Mrs Tingle. On the stage, audiences have enjoyed her in the Off- Broadway smash My Big Gay Italian Wedding, playing Toniann Naso. Most recently, Kim co-produced & starred as Melody McPlanet in The Groove Factory, a sold-out hit at The 2012 New York Musical Theater Festival.


JUDY TORRES – “Aunt Toniann” (November 3, 10, 17, 24 and December 8th and 15th)” Meeting Judy Torres in person is an experience that’s calming, soothing and ultimately uplifting. Of course, in her music, she always delivers the heat and passion straight to your soul, but face-to-face, it’s a different type of emotion she conveys. It’s still the same fiery, heartfelt connection, just channeled in a more embracing and loving manner. And once she smiles at you and the conversation really gets going, you absolutely feel like you’re reconnecting with that old best friend you haven’t spoken to in years.


JUSTIN FLEXEN – “Gregorio” is super thrilled to be a part of My Big Gay Italian Wedding! Credits include the national tour of Movin’ Out and regional productions of Damn Yankees (Ogunquit Playhouse), Legally Blonde, West Side Story (Gateway Playhouse) and One Ride (Queens Theatre in the Park). LIZ GERECITANO – “Lucia” is a native New Yorker who holds her BFA in theatre with a minor in musical theatre from Montclair State University. She is thrilled to be returning to the St. Lukes Theater to reprise the role of Lucia Fuccio. Other Off-Broadway credits include Tina in Tony and Tina’s Wedding (the Edison Hotel) and Teresa in Italian American Reconciliation (The Producers Club). Liz has been featured on episodes of Guiding Light, Law and Order and Trenchcoat Mafia. She can also be seen in the new Ed Burns film The Fitzgerald Family Christmas, which made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2012. She would like to thank her wonderful family for always being her biggest fans, and her amazing fiancé Anthony, for letting her plan a Big Gay Italian/Greek wedding of their own.


MEGAN ROBAR – “Connie” is THRILLED to return to the ‘Big Gay’ family! Megan previously performed in the first run of My Big Gay Italian Wedding as the role of Connie Scuccifuffio, as well as understudied the role of Angela Pinnunziato. Megan has earned her BFA from the University of the Arts as well as having trained abroad in London at the British American Drama Academy. She is currently a student at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade. Megan can be seen in numerous commercials for MTV, mtvU, White Castle and Verizon Wireless, and can be seen in upcoming television series Girlhattan (2013). DREW LITTLE – “Mario” is ecstatic to be a part of the wedding party! NY Credits include That Other Woman’s Child (NYMF) Skype Duet. MICHAEL GELLERT – “Frankie” is thrilled to be back in New York and to be joining the My Big Gay Italian Wedding Family! A native New Yorker, Michael studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Favorite roles include the baker from Into the Woods, Benjy Stone from My Favorite Year, the cat in Honk! and Aldo in Italian American Reconciliation. ERIK RANSOM – “Rodney” is a performer/composer/playwright, recently seen as Coco DePendent in The Groove Factory during NYMF 2012. In 2011, Erik’s epic musical, Coming: A Rock Musical of Biblical Proportions, premiered at the Prince Music Theatre in Philadelphia, receiving stellar reviews from local and national press. Over the past year, Erik has written and presented two more musicals, SAGA and Tragic Events. He is currently developing a piece entitled More Than All the World which is a musical adaptation of Christopher Marlowe’s Edward II. Erik is a Big Gay Italian alumnus, having played Joey DeFrancesco in the original Off-Broadway production of Boys Just Wanna Have Fun and Rodney in the most recent New York production of My Big Gay Italian Wedding. Erik is thrilled to be back amidst this funny, talented family!


CHAD KESSLER – “Father Rosalia” is ecstatic to be reunited with his big gay family having originated Father Ro at St Luke’s in 2010 and the dual role Carmine/Pontessa in Boys Just Wanna Have Fun.  Chad’s theatrical work has been seen at Ensemble Studio Theater, Actors’ Playhouse, West End Theater, Chashama, Lincoln Center, NYC Fringe, IRT Theater, The St George, and Second Stage to name a few. Film/TV: Demon Resurrection, Guiding Light, Saturday Night Live, and has appeared frequently on LXTV on NBC, Nickelodeon and on Pokémon! The Series, on Cartoon Network. Chad is co-creator/host of The United Plates of America and Woofmeister Inc., both in final stages of development for television. This past summer, he produced and co-wrote the electronic dance musical, The Groove Factory, which enjoyed a sold out run at the 2012 New York Musical Theater Festival. LEAH GERSTEL – “Vera” Deja vu! Leah is delirious to be back in antics Off-Broadway with her My Big Gay Italian Wedding Family! A five-time Tony Award Winner… Oh wait, that’s Audra. Just Practicing 😉 Past Credits include SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert at Lincoln Center, Broadway Bares XXI Masterpiece, 22nd Annual Gypsy of the Year, Adam Gwon’s Ordinary Days (Deb) Peppermint Creek, Bathrooms over Broadway with Chris Seiber (Charmin Ambassador) Sound of Music Broadway Asia (Frau Schmidt/Sr. Berthe) Christmas Carol Pittsburgh CLO (Belle) Sweeney Todd (Beggar Woman) and The Secret Garden (Martha) at Pittsburgh Playhouse. You may have seen Leah Singing for Snuggie on your TV, or as a performer for Disney or Royal Caribbean. You never know where she may pop up! PAUL MOON – “Male Swing” is excited to be joining the My Big Gay Italian Wedding family. Originally from Colorado and a graduate of Ohio State, Paul has recently taken the leap to New York City and couldn’t be happier. NY credits: Sean McCracken in House Strictly Private (1st Irish Theatre Festival), Robert in Chorus Call & An Honest Mistake (The Secret Theatre). Ohio notable credits: Stephen in The Irish Curse, Nasty/Interesting Man in Eurydice, Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Davis in Red Light Winter and Lucius in Titus Andronicus. Paul would like to thank his family and friends for their support.


J. AUSTIN EYER – “Choreographer” last choreographed Stinkykids the Musical for the Vital Theatre Company, which won the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Family Musical and The Brain that Wouldn’t Die for the NYMF festival. OFF-BROADWAY credits include My Big Gay Italian Wedding and Boys Just Wanna Have Fun. He has also choreographed for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Disney World and Universal Studios. His performance career began at the age of 7 and some of those credits include – BROADWAY: Evita, How to Succeed (Dance Captain), Billy Elliot (u/s Tony), The Little Mermaid (u/s Prince Eric), Curtains and The Secret Garden (Colin). He received a BFA from NYU and is a faculty member at CAP21.


DAVID JAMES BOYD – “Original Music and Lyrics, Musical Director” As a producer, multiple top 50 Billboard Dance chart-toppers. As composer/lyricist, his musicals include The Groove Factory (NYMF)and Stepchild. His songs have appeared on television in The A List:NY, the web soap Empire, and in the films Bear City 2 and Raid of the Rainbow Lounge. Big Gay music is available on iTunes!


ROBERT LEVINSTEIN – “Production Stage Manager” Broadway: Waiting in the Wings, Voices in the Dark, Parade;  Off-Broadway: Clue: The Musical, and National Tours: Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, Camelot and the hit revue Forbidden Broadway. Most recently, Robert was the Associate Producer at the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine and currently is Executive Producer for 22Q Entertainment LLC which he formed in 2011.


FRANK GERICITANO – “Company Manager/Set Design” Frank is a native born New Yorker who just finished managing Bye Bye Birdie in Taipai. His past managing credits include La Fiat (Calgary), Fiddler On The Roof (Staten Island) and Mon Ami Amore (Sicily). His set design credits are too long to list, but My Big Gay Italian Wedding is by far the best show he has ever worked on.


TERESA CICALA – “Media Producer” is a three-time Emmy winning Editor & Associate Director. Editing credits include One Life to Live, The Chew, Empire: The Series, Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America and Feed the Beast. Teresa also directed the 2010/2011 revival of My Big Gay Italian Wedding, as well as episodes of its web series.


EMILY DeSIMONE – “Wardrobe Supervisor” is so very excited to rejoin My Big Gay Italian Wedding! She came on as Wardrobe Supervisor late summer of 2010 and was with the show until it closed in August 2011. While she has wardrobed other shows, nothing comes close to her Big Gay Italian Family and she is so happy to be back!
