Who We Are
SONIA BLANGIARDO is a two-time Emmy winner with over 20 years of experience as a producer/director. Sonia is the Creator and Executive Producer of Tainted Dreams, NYC BRAND PRODUCTIONS’ first scripted drama to be filmed in the spring of 2013.
Sonia is the Supervising Producer of Prospect Park’s online production of All My Children scheduled to air in late April 2013. She has worked in television as a producer/director for ABC’s General Hospital, All My Children, and One Life to Live, as well as CBS’s As the World Turns. She directed the revival of the Off-Broadway hit My Big Gay Italian Wedding in New York City, which is running from November 3 through April 13, 2013 at the St. Luke Theatre (http://www.biggayitalianwedding.com/).
Sonia, a member of the Directors Guild of America, also directed and produced Boys Just Wanna Have Fun and My Big Gay Italian Wedding (both as ANNDEE PRODUCTIONS), which ran from May 2010 to August of 2011 and was nominated for an Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play Revival. In addition, Sonia directed and produced a SAG pilot script for You Don’t Know Jack with Three’s Company‘s Richard Kline and Mr. PEC-Tacular Arm and Chest Workout DVD with Big Brother‘s Jessie Godderz and soap star Austin Peck. Sonia is also the founder of CARLO’S GOAL, a non-for-profit organization for pancreatic cancer research, which has raised over $30,000.
ROB SANTERAMO is a two-time Emmy Award winner for his work as technical director for ABC’s One Life to Live. He is well-versed in all areas of television production, having worked for ABC-TV for 32 years, where he is currently responsible for the transmission and distribution of network programming. Rob’s resume extends into the theater, where he has served as set decorator for the off-Broadway hit, My Big Gay Italian Wedding. In addition to his professional technical experience, Rob is an award-winning and published photographer. His photos have frequently appeared in numerous photography magazines as well as Soap Opera Digest.
Rob’s talents extend to graphic creation, sound mixing, photo reconstruction and recreation, and video and photo editing, having created a multitude of video and photo compilations. Some of his passions include collecting antiques and vintage cars, home remodeling and travel. Rob has also dedicated a multitude of hours for CARLO’S GOAL, a non-for-profit foundation which raises money for pancreatic cancer research. Rob will be the technical director for NYC BRAND PRODUCTIONS’ several projects, including Tainted Dreams. He will also be the photographer on set in charge of the publicity and PR creative look.
MARK COSTELLO is legal counsel to NYC BRAND PRODUCTIONS and Tainted Dreams. Mark has over 30 years of experience as an attorney in New York, is a member of the Executive Committee of the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and has been representing clients in the entertainment industry since 1987. Mark is a partner in the law firm Boylan Code LLP, a broad practice business law firm representing clients in general corporate matters relating to securities, intellectual property, real estate, environmental and public law issues, litigation, estate planning and administration, employee benefits and employee relations, and tax law. Mark recently served as executive producer and legal counsel of the feature length motion picture King’s Faith (2012), starring Lynn Whitfield and James McDaniel, and has represented many filmmakers in various matters of business. Mark has co-written, produced and sold the feature length motion picture Checkout (2002), starring Burt Young. Mark also serves as an adjunct professor of Music Business at Nazareth College and as a guest lecturer on film business issues at the Rochester Institute of Technology. In 1999, Mark and his firm served as counsel on Woodstock ’99.
ROB “BUCKY” BUCHALTER is the Creator and Executive Producer of NYC BRAND PRODUCTIONS’ brand new show CAWL To Arms, which is planned to air on ESPNU and ESPN2 in 2014. CAWL to Arms is a unique, action-packed sport in which teams of collegiate students from rival schools around the country face one another in exciting and grueling matches to determine the most powerful male and female collegiate arm wrestlers in America. Rob possesses an eclectic background and has created and co-created several show concepts over the past two decades. He has produced programming for every television genre ranging from comedic to reality to news and talk, and extending into dating game shows.
Rob co-produced with Sonia Blangiardo the Mr. PEC-Tacular Arm and Chest Workout DVD with Big Brother’s Jessie Godderz and soap star Austin Peck. Rob was the Co-Creator and Producer of Sony’s Shipmates, the Supervising Post Producer of MTV’s Room Raiders, the Senior Producer of PARAMOUNT’s The Judge Mills Lane Show, and the Post Producer of SONY’s Judge Hatchett. He also served as a Talent Booker at David Letterman’s WORLDWIDE PANTS, INC. Rob has worked for numerous top broadcast networks, syndicators and cable stations throughout the country, and brings extensive experience and a vast network of resources to the creative process.
CANDACE STRAIGHT is a financial adviser to NYC BRAND PRODUCTIONS. Candace is a private investor and an investment banking consultant specializing in the insurance and financial services industries. Straight is an independent director of Montpelier Re, a Bermuda based property and casualty reinsurer, and Neuberger Berman mutual funds. She is also a member of the Board of Governors of Rutgers University. During her career, she was a principal in a private equity firm, Head and Partners, a financial executive at Merck & Co., Inc., and an Advisory Director of Securitas Capital, L.L.C., a global private investment firm, owned by the Swiss Reinsurance Company.
From 1996 to January 2002, Straight was Vice Chairman of the New Jersey Sports and Exhibition Authority and also served on Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Private/Public Initiatives Council. Straight received a BA from Wilson College and her MBA from New York University.
